Eat like a local

I created this list for all friends and guests, who want to experience Dalat like a local, and stay away from touristy spots in the city. Hope you guys enjoy it the way I did.

Believe me, I've tried all bunbo shops in town. This one is the best. The soup was nicely balanced, and the beef was tender and flavorful.

Taste much better than any other nem nuong shop. The vegetables that come along with nem nuong, are exceptionally fresh and clean (6 stars for this).

A cozy place where you can reserve a table in advance. Highly recommend anything that comes with salted egg sauce

Although the restaurant is famous for "ốc nhồi thịt", I would highly recommend guests to try grill squids and ox tail hotpot here. Real good. The restaurant has been operating for (I think) 15-20 years now

When you eat Mi Quang in Da Lat, you should expect something totally different from the one you might have in Quảng. This Mi Quang stock is made from animal bones, dried shrimp, jicama, and chayote.

There are many banh can shops in Dalat, yet this one is probably the only one that has banh can thit bo. Very tasty. And again, different from banh can you have in Phan Thiet or Nha Trang.

There are at least 2 fake "banh beo so 4" shops in the city, so I post photos of ba Huong and her place. Famous since 1993.

Stewed beef is tasty

You want some local snacks? They serve crispy corn spring rolls here.

Dalat-ers would love to hang out with friends at night in cold weather at Soymilk shop. We love having croissant/VNese banana cake with soymilk while chatting with friends.

Pizzaaaa!!!!!!!! No. This is grilled rice paper aka pizza Dalat. Apart from the long wait, everything else is enjoyable.

Kem Phung was most famous (at least in my memory) for its "kem ky" when Phung was just a small kiosk in Dalat market. Now you have many options at Phung, such as kem trai cay, kem bo etc.

Hot and spicy. Pork rinds are not mixed with the meatball. Tasty!

Listening to Le Uyen Phuong, Khanh Ly, Tuan Ngoc at Tung fills you with nostalgia. Like nowhere else.

Don't recommend coming to Tung on weekends or on tourists' peak seasons.

If you don't mind drinking cà phê sữa nóng in a puff of smoke, you can totally mingle with the locals here. Oh and they also serve famous bánh bao 171.
